Sehore: VIT Bhopal
University has been recognised as Madhya Pradesh’s Best Educational Institution
of the Year 2026 under the Institutional Awards category at the 7th edition of
the EDex Awards 2026, hosted in Pune. The recognition acknowledges the
University’s approach to higher education, combining technology-enabled
learning, academic flexibility and opportunities for holistic student
development.
Speaking at the event, hosted by
Indianpreneur Magazine, during a panel discussion on “The Future University
2035: What Will Campuses Look Like?”, Prof. Satish Kumar Modh, Vice
Chancellor, VIT Bhopal University, highlighted the changing role of
universities in preparing students for evolving academic and professional
environments.
He emphasised the importance of
integrating practical application with classroom learning, noting that VIT
Bhopal’s Collaborative and Active Learning through Technology (CALTech)
framework encourages students to engage with concepts through hands-on
experiences. The University’s flexible credit system also allows students to
tailor their academic pathways to their interests and learning pace.
“At VIT Bhopal, we believe
learning must extend beyond the conventional classroom. Through
technology-enabled instruction, laboratory-based learning and practical
application, we encourage students to move from understanding concepts to
applying them. The objective is to develop not just subject knowledge, but also
the ability to think critically, solve problems and adapt to changing
requirements,” said Prof. Modh.
He also highlighted the role of
extracurricular engagement in developing well-rounded graduates. The University
has more than 100 technical and cultural clubs, providing students with
opportunities to explore their interests, collaborate with peers and develop
leadership and organisational skills alongside their academic pursuits.
Highlighting the University’s
commitment to inclusive education, Prof. Modh said, “Through our STARS
Programme (Support the Advancement of Rural Students), we provide free
education and comprehensive support to 110 students, comprising one boy and one
girl topper from government schools in each of Madhya Pradesh’s 55 districts.
This includes academic fees, hostel accommodation, food and transportation. We
want to ensure that students from disadvantaged backgrounds have access to
quality education and the opportunity to realise their potential.”
“Access to quality education can
make a lasting difference to a student’s future. Through the STARS Programme,
we aim to ensure that talented students from rural backgrounds can pursue
higher education without financial constraints becoming a barrier to their
aspirations,” he added.
As higher education evolves in
response to technological advances and changing workforce needs, VIT Bhopal
University’s approach combines academic flexibility, experiential learning and
student engagement to help graduates navigate diverse professional pathways.
The recognition at the EDex Awards 2026 highlights VIT Bhopal University’s
efforts to adapt its academic practices to the changing needs of higher
education.
