Bhopal : The fourth edition of the IIA Design Appreciation Awards 2026 was organized by the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) Bhopal Center on Saturday at Giovani Village. The ceremony honored the contributions of architects and professionals who have executed remarkable work in the fields of architecture and design. The event witnessed the presence of the city’s prominent architects, designers, academicians, and architecture experts.
During the ceremony, Architect Dr. Amogh Kumar Gupta was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his long-standing contributions to the field of architecture. This accolade was presented in recognition of his extensive professional experience and significant contributions to architectural practice.
Architect Akshay Selukar, Chairman of IIA Bhopal Center, stated that the objective of the Design Appreciation Awards is to recognize and encourage the creative endeavors of architects and designers. He remarked that architecture is continuously evolving, and such platforms play a vital role in bringing forward new thinking, experimentation, and superior design. He added that the IIA Bhopal Center will continue working to provide new opportunities and promote professional excellence within the architectural community.
A leadership transition was also announced during the ceremony. Architect Akshay Selukar declared Architect Hemant Vishwakarma as the new Chairman of the IIA Bhopal Center for the 2026–28 tenure. With this announcement, the path was paved for the commencement of a new leadership term at the IIA Bhopal Center.
Under the new leadership, the institute will emphasize fostering dialogue, knowledge sharing, and expanding professional opportunities for architects in the field of architecture.
