Sehore: VIT Bhopal
University has secured over ₹5.2 crore in external research funding across 28
sponsored projects, reinforcing its emergence as a fast-growing research and
innovation hub focused on addressing real-world challenges in agriculture,
healthcare, cybersecurity, sustainability, and advanced technologies.
Continuing to build on a strong
R&D foundation, some of the University's recent innovations include a
Charger with Built-in Power Bank, Multi-Sourced Hybrid Power Bank, Quadcopter
with Drop Facility, Multipurpose Detachable Backpack, and Multipurpose Floor
Chair, addressing everyday utility and accessibility needs. In transportation
and public safety, researchers have also developed technologies such as an
Advanced Airbag Deployment System, Smart Vehicle Interior System, Traffic Lane
Prioritization System, Intrusion Detection System, Structural Crack Detection
System, and Smart Appliance Control System.
Reflecting a strong
translational research culture, VIT Bhopal has secured six design registrations
while ten utility patent applications have been published and are currently
under examination. These achievements underscore sustained innovation and the active
participation of both faculty members and students.
Several funded projects are
driving the development of AI-enabled precision farming solutions, disease
surveillance systems, cybersecurity frameworks, communication technologies, and
aerospace innovations aligned with national priorities. Research in agriculture
focuses on improving crop yields, optimising resource utilisation, reducing
pesticide dependence, and enhancing farmers' livelihoods through advanced
technologies.
In healthcare, the University is
advancing projects focused on disease surveillance, data-driven healthcare
administration, and advanced diagnostic techniques aimed at strengthening
public health systems and improving healthcare outcomes.
VIT Bhopal's research
initiatives are also contributing to India's technological self-reliance
through advancements in communication systems, aerospace technologies,
next-generation mobility, cybersecurity, and public safety. Complementing these
efforts, the University is leveraging emerging digital technologies to preserve
and digitally showcase India's cultural heritage.
The University's research
portfolio further extends to sustainability and advanced materials through
innovations such as a Thermoplastic Biodegradable Wood Adhesive and an
Integrated Bioprocess for the Co-production of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles and
Succinic Acid using agro-industrial residues, highlighting its commitment to
developing solutions with both environmental and societal impact.
By translating research into
practical technologies with societal impact, VIT Bhopal continues to strengthen
its position as a research-led institution fostering innovation,
entrepreneurship, and technology-driven solutions for India's future.
