Lenskart to Launch AI-Powered Smart Glasses by December

New Delhi : Eyewear major Lenskart is preparing to launch its first pair of AI-powered smart glasses by the end of December, in a move aimed at repositioning itself as a technology-driven lifestyle brand, according to people familiar with the matter.

Internally referred to as “B by Lenskart Smartglasses,” the upcoming wearable is expected to feature AI-based interactions, health and wellness insights, and UPI payment integration, sources said.

The launch could follow shortly after the company’s stock market debut on November 10, though the product’s pricing has not yet been finalized.

“The smart glasses aim to blend AI and commerce into the eyewear experience — where your glasses are not just for vision, but also for interaction and convenience,” one of the people cited earlier said.

The device is likely powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 platform, a chipset designed for lightweight augmented reality and camera-enabled AI applications.

This aligns with the strategic partnership announced between Lenskart and Qualcomm during the Snapdragon for India XR Day in July 2025, where both companies revealed plans to co-develop AR and AI solutions tailored for Indian consumers.

Lenskart did not respond to queries seeking comment.

The company’s subsidiary, Lenskart Solutions, launched a public offer worth ₹7,278 crore on October 31, valuing the firm at nearly ₹70,000 crore (USD 8 billion). The issue, which was fully subscribed on the first day, is scheduled to close on November 4.

Over the past year, Lenskart has made multiple strategic investments in AI, XR, and computer vision startups, enhancing its in-house technology stack as it expands beyond traditional eyewear retail. The move forms part of its broader strategy to evolve from a direct-to-consumer optics brand into a vision-tech ecosystem player.

If successful, Lenskart could become one of the first Indian consumer tech brands to commercialize AI-driven eyewear, competing with the Meta-Ray-Ban Smart Glasses and Amazon Echo Frames, but with a localized design and price point suited to Indian consumers.
