Indonesia has lifted its ban on Indian groundnuts, but exports remain slow as exporters hesitate due to strict new import rules.
Since the ban was removed, only 800 tonnes of peanuts have been shipped, industry sources said. Exporters cite tight regulations and a limited number of approved inspection agencies as key risks. Indonesia was one of India’s major peanut markets, importing 2.77 lakh tonnes worth $280 million in the last fiscal year. The ban was originally imposed on December 2, 2025.
