Amazon is expanding the abilities of its AI-powered assistant Alexa+ by adding four major new integrations. Starting in 2026, Alexa+ will work directly with Angi, Expedia, Square, and Yelp, making it easier for users to book travel, find home services, schedule appointments, and discover local businesses, all through voice commands.
These new partnerships mark an important step in Amazon’s effort to turn Alexa+ into a central platform for everyday tasks beyond simple voice commands. The update continues Amazon’s push to make conversational AI assistants more useful and practical in people’s daily lives.
What the New Integrations Do
1. Expedia: Travel Booking Made Easy
With Expedia joining Alexa+, users will be able to search for, compare, book, and manage hotel reservations using natural language. For example, you can say things like, “Alexa, find me pet-friendly hotels in Chicago for this weekend”, and Alexa+ will suggest suitable options and complete the booking.
2. Angi and Yelp: Home Services and Local Business Help
Alexa+ users will soon be able to find home service professionals, request quotes for repairs or renovations, and review options right through voice. Angi helps locate skilled workers for home projects, while Yelp offers business reviews and local service info so users can choose trusted providers such as plumbers, cleaners, landscapers, or electricians.
3. Square: Beauty, Wellness and Appointments
Integration with Square will let customers discover local beauty and wellness businesses like salons, spas, and barbershops and book or reschedule appointments using Alexa+. This broadens Alexa+’s usefulness into personal care and service planning.
Conversational and Smart Experience
With these updates, Alexa+ doesn’t just respond to single commands anymore, it can engage in back-and-forth conversations to refine user requests, much like a human assistant. Users can clarify preferences during the conversation without needing to open apps or visit websites.
For example, someone planning a trip can start with a general request, then provide details about location, date, budget, or special needs, all through voice. Alexa+ will adjust search results and help complete the task.
Part of a Bigger Plan
These services join other features already supported by Alexa+, such as restaurant booking with OpenTable, ride-hailing through Uber, event tickets from Ticketmaster, and more. The goal is to make Alexa+ an all-in-one platform for everyday needs whether it’s travel, dining, rides, or home tasks.
Amazon is testing a model where the AI assistant acts almost like a voice-controlled app store by letting users get things done without manual searching, tapping, or switching between different apps.
What's Ahead?
The new integrations are expected to roll out throughout 2026. As Alexa+ continues to add more services, its usefulness could expand significantly, helping users handle complex tasks through simple conversation instead of traditional apps or websites.
However, whether users will fully adopt these new voice-based experiences remains to be seen. To succeed, voice AI must be as easy or easier to use than the apps and tools people already rely on every day.
