Iconic Actor Dharmendra Dies at 89, Film Industry Mourns

Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra has passed away at the age of 89. He died at his Mumbai residence, bringing an end to a legendary six-decade career. 

A Career That Defined an Era

Dharmendra was one of Indian cinema’s most beloved stars, known for his rugged action roles and warm, charismatic presence. Over his long career, he acted in more than 300 films, starring in iconic movies like Sholay, Phool Aur Patthar, and Chupke Chupke
His versatility made him a hero of action, romance, and comedy, he was widely called Bollywood’s “He-Man.” 

Final Days and Health Struggles

Earlier this month, Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai for breathing problems. He was later discharged to continue his treatment at home. 
On November 24, his condition worsened, and he passed away quietly at his residence.

The news of Dharmendra’s passing has deeply moved the industry. Filmmaker Karan Johar called it “the end of an era,” calling him a “bonafide legend of Indian cinema.”
Stars like Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, and many more have expressed their grief, remembering his kindness both on and off screen. 

Dharmendra’s last rites were performed at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Mumbai, where family, friends, and many film industry figures gathered to pay their respects. 

He leaves behind a large family, including his wives Hema Malini and Prakash Kaur, and his children Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Esha Deol, and others.
