Veteran actor Dharmendra, aged 89, is reportedly stable and recovering after being hospitalised, despite widespread rumours of his demise.
His daughter Esha Deol took to Instagram to clarify the situation, stating: “My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy.”
Meanwhile, his wife Hema Malini slammed media outlets for spreading “irresponsible” and false reports about his health, calling the actions “extremely disrespectful and irresponsible.”
The rumours of Dharmendra’s death began circulating after he was admitted to hospital for breathlessness. Some prominent figures even posted obituaries before realising the mistake.
Known for his landmark roles in films like Sholay, Dharmendra’s family has thanked well-wishers for their prayers and asked the public to refrain from spreading unverified information.
