Schools score above the OECD reference average across Reading, Mathematics and Science, highlighting the Group’s focus on application-based learning, critical thinking and real-world problem-solving
Mumbai: Lighthouse
Learning Group, one of India’s leading Early Childhood and K-12 education
groups, has recorded strong performance across four of its schools in the 2025
PISA for Schools assessment, with scores above the OECD reference average
across Reading, Mathematics and Science. The results highlight the Group’s
approach to moving towards deeper understanding, critical thinking and the
ability to apply knowledge to real-world situations.
The
2025 assessment saw participation from five Lighthouse Learning schools:
Billabong High International School, Malad and Vadodara; Centre Point School,
Amravati Road Bypass and EuroSchool HSR and Undri.
PISA
for Schools provides an international benchmark of student learning, assessing
not only what students know but how effectively they interpret information,
reason through unfamiliar situations, solve problems and apply concepts in
real-world contexts. The assessment also provides insights into aspects of the
learning environment, including student wellbeing, motivation and sense of
belonging, enabling schools to identify strengths and areas for continued
improvement.

Commenting
on the results, Sadashiv Nayak, CEO, K-12 Schools, Lighthouse Learning Group,
said: "At
Lighthouse Learning, we believe that meaningful education goes beyond what
students know to how confidently and thoughtfully they can apply that
knowledge. The PISA for Schools results provide our schools with an important
international benchmark and, more importantly, an opportunity to reflect on how
we can continue strengthening learning outcomes. We are encouraged by our
learners and educators, and see this as another step in our ongoing journey to
equip young people with the capabilities they need to navigate an increasingly
complex world."
Dr.
Natasha Mehta, Chief Education Officer, Lighthouse Learning Group, said: "The PISA for Schools assessment aligns
closely with the kind of learning we seek to foster across our campuses.
Learning that encourages learners to question, interpret, reason and apply
concepts. The results highlight areas of strength while also giving our
educators valuable insights into where we can go further. Our focus now is to
translate these insights into classroom practices that make learning more
relevant, engaging and future-ready for every student."
The
results provide Lighthouse Learning Group with a broader understanding of the
student experience, offering insights into wellbeing, motivation, sense of
belonging and relationships within the school environment. Beyond measuring
academic performance, the assessment showcases a valuable framework for
understanding how students learn and engage, enabling schools to identify areas
of strength, sharpen teaching and learning practices, and drive continuous
improvement. For Lighthouse Learning, these insights reinforce its commitment
to creating learning environments that are academically rigorous, responsive to
student needs and equipped to prepare learners for the complexities of the
future.
By
benchmarking student capabilities against an international framework,
Lighthouse Learning aims to deepen its focus on learning that is relevant,
applied, and future-ready, equipping students not only to perform well
academically, but to think independently, solve unfamiliar problems and apply
their learning with confidence.
