New Delhi : A groundbreaking report by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) titled Career Paths Reimagined reveals that traditional linear career trajectories are rapidly disappearing. In India, nearly 47% of finance professionals believe that flexible career paths will become the norm by 2035. The study, which surveyed 2,600 members and 145 employers globally, underscores a massive shift toward "skills-based" progression rather than job titles.

Reflecting India’s tech-forward mindset, 74% of local professionals identify AI and technology as the most vital skills for future growth. The report also introduces the rising trend of "micro-retirements" intentional career breaks for personal growth as professionals prepare for longer working lives. As organizational structures move from pyramids to "diamond shapes," the industry is urged to move away from rigid models and embrace curiosity and agility as the new pillars of professional success.
