initiatives throughout October, observed as National Cyber Security Awareness
Month, to educate customers, employees and stakeholders on cyber security, safe
digital banking practices and fraud prevention. These initiatives are aligned
with national programmes such as Cyber Jaagrookta and relevant regulatory
guidelines.
As part of its outreach efforts, Indian Bank organised a Walkathon near
Besant Nagar Beach, Chennai, to promote cyber awareness and highlight the
importance of collective responsibility in combating cyber fraud. The Walkathon
was inaugurated and participated in by Shri Binod Kumar, Managing Director

Addressing the gathering, Shri Binod Kumar emphasised the importance of
heightened cyber awareness and vigilance in safeguarding digital systems and
promoting secure banking practices.
To strengthen cyber security awareness among employees, a pan-India quiz
competition was also organised, with winners suitably rewarded for their
performance.
As part of its awareness campaign, Indian Bank is prominently featuring
its cyber safety mascot, “IB CYBER CAPTAIN,” across its awareness materials to
reinforce key cyber security messages and encourage customers and stakeholders
to adopt safe digital banking practices.
Through these initiatives, Indian Bank reaffirms its commitment to
foster a strong cyber security culture, combating emerging digital threats and
building a safer digital banking ecosystem for all its stakeholders.
