The internet is in turmoil after reports surfaced claiming that just days before their scheduled wedding, Palash Muchhal allegedly cheated on Smriti Mandhana. What began as a regular wedding postponement has snowballed into a full-blown controversy, fuelled by leaked chats, deleted posts and witness rumours.
What Happened?
The couple had announced their wedding to take place on 23 November 2025. Preparations were underway.
The wedding was abruptly postponed after Ms. Mandhana’s father suffered a health emergency. Moments later, fans noticed all social-media posts related to their engagement, proposal video, pre-wedding ceremonies and celebrations shared by both were removed, or archived.
The sudden “Insta-cleanse” triggered widespread speculation among fans and followers. Many felt that such a drastic move meant something more than a health scare was at play.
“People don’t delete everything unless something much bigger happened,” wrote one X user.
The Allegation: Leaked Chats & Rumoured Affair
- Soon after the posts vanished, screenshots began circulating first on Instagram (from a user named “Mary D’Costa”) and then on Reddit claiming to show “flirty chats” between Palash and a woman, allegedly working as a choreographer for the pre-wedding events.
In those chats (dated May 2025, as per the screenshots), Palash allegedly invites the woman for outings swims, spa visits, meets at beach and appears evasive when asked about his relationship status with Smriti.
Some social-media posts also claim that Palash was “seen” with the same woman just four days before the engagement, during dance rehearsals. No video or verified image has emerged only anonymous testimonies and rumours.
What’s Verified (…And What Isn’t)
Verified: The wedding was postponed citing the father’s health issue, and most pre-wedding posts on social media by Smriti and Palash have disappeared.
Unverified: The authenticity of the leaked chats or the claims of an affair. Neither Smriti nor Palash has issued a statement denying or confirming the allegations. The Instagram account which posted the screenshots has been deactivated, adding to doubts.
Unconfirmed: The witness accounts claiming to have seen Palash with another woman. No evidence, photos or videos has emerged so far.
Public Reaction
As expected, social media is flooded with reactions:
Many fans of Smriti have expressed outrage, calling the alleged behaviour “shameless,” “a betrayal,” and praising her for deleting the posts.
Others urge calm, pointing out that screenshots can be manipulated, and nothing is confirmed. A few suggest it may be a PR stunt, or a case of media sensationalism.
At least one close to Palash his sister Palak Muchhal reportedly asked the public to respect the family’s privacy, saying the postponement was due to a family health crisis.
Bottom Line
At the moment, the controversy is built on allegations, unverified screenshots and social-media speculation. Neither side has made any clarifying statement. Until concrete evidence emerges or either party addresses the matter publicly, this remains a storm of rumours.
