Australia includes two Indian-origin players in U-19 World Cup squad

Australia has announced its 15-player squad for the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026. The tournament will be played in Namibia and Zimbabwe from January 15 to February 6, 2026.

In the team, two players of Indian originAryan Sharma and John James have been selected. Both are young cricketers who impressed the selectors with their recent performances. 

  • Aryan Sharma is known as a good batter and slow left-arm spinner.

  • John James is an all-rounder who bowls medium-pace and can bat too. 

Australia enters the U-19 World Cup as the defending champions, having won the last tournament. The team will be led by captain Oliver Peake

The squad also includes players from Sri Lankan and Chinese backgrounds, showing the diversity of young cricket talent in Australia. 

Australia has been placed in Group A, where they will play against Ireland, Japan, and Sri Lanka in the first round.

This World Cup is a big chance for young players to show their skills on the world stage.
