11 Exit Polls Give NDA Clear Majority In Bihar, 1 Predicts Close Contest

Most exit polls released after the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 indicate that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the BJP, is likely to retain power in the state. However, one survey suggests a much tighter race with the opposition Mahagathbandhan (MGB).

As reported by NDTV, 11 exit polls together predict that the NDA could win around 146 seats in the 243-member assembly, while the MGB may secure 90 to 100 seats. The majority mark stands at 122.

As covered by Dainik Bhaskar and reported via Navbharat Times, the NDA is projected to win 145 to 160 seats, while the MGB could get 80 to 95 seats. The report highlights that the BJP and JD(U) have performed well in key rural constituencies.

As reported by Business Today, the Axis My India exit poll paints a more competitive picture, giving the NDA 121 to 141 seats and the MGB 98 to 118 seats, indicating that the contest remains close in several regions.

According to The Times of India, the NDA is likely to return to power with a “bigger majority,” backed by stronger support among women and older voters.

However, as reported by Maharashtra Times, the Journo Mirror exit poll predicts a narrow edge for the Mahagathbandhan, suggesting the NDA’s lead may not be consistent across all regions.

Voter Trends

As highlighted by Axis My India data (via NDTV), women voters leaned towards the NDA, while first-time and young voters showed more support for the Mahagathbandhan. The NDA performed better among older voters and in semi-urban areas, while the MGB retained dominance in its traditional strongholds.

What Lies Ahead

The final results will be announced on November 14, revealing whether the exit polls’ predictions prove accurate or if Bihar once again delivers an electoral surprise.
