A major terror plot has been stopped in Gujarat. The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested a 35-year-old doctor from Hyderabad, identified as Ahmed Mohiyuddin Saiyed, for planning a chemical weapon attack using the deadly poison ricin.
What Happened
Police caught the doctor near the Adalaj Toll Plaza in Ahmedabad during a late-night operation. Officers found two Glock pistols, one Beretta pistol, 30 live bullets, and 4 litres of castor oil from him. Castor oil is used to make ricin, one of the most dangerous poisons in the world.
The Plot
Investigators say the doctor was part of a larger terror plan linked to Pakistan-based handlers and the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP). His main contact abroad is believed to be a person named Abu Khadija, who gave him instructions to plan attacks in Indian cities like Delhi, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad.
The ATS found that the doctor and his team wanted to create panic by using ricin poison and guns to harm many people. They had also done secret checks near important buildings and RSS offices.
How Weapons Were Sent
According to officials, the weapons were sent from Pakistan using drones, which dropped the arms near the border. The doctor collected them from there and planned to use them for terror activities in India.
What Is Ricin?
Ricin is a deadly poison made from castor beans. Even a small amount can kill a person if swallowed, inhaled, or injected. There is no known antidote, which makes it extremely dangerous.
The Investigation
Police believe the doctor was preparing to make the poison using the castor oil they found. The Gujarat ATS has now arrested three people in connection with the plot and is looking for more suspects.
An Army spokesperson said the accused had been preparing for a large-scale terror attack and “posed a serious threat to national security.”
The doctor and his accomplices have been charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Arms Act, and other strict laws.
Current Situation
All the accused are now in police custody. Investigations are continuing to find out who helped them and how deep the Pakistan link goes. The ATS has also shared the details with central intelligence agencies to prevent such plots in the future.
Officials said this arrest shows how terror groups are trying to use chemical and biological weapons to attack India. Security forces remain on high alert across the country.
