At least five prominent schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails on Wednesday morning, 10 December 2025, prompting police and school authorities to evacuate students and conduct security checks. The affected schools include Delhi Public School (DPS) RK Puram, Modern School, Indian School, Sanskriti School and Lovely Public School in Laxmi Nagar.
Threat Emails Spark Immediate Response
The first warning was reported around 10:40 am from Lovely Public School in East Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar. Police units, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad teams, fire services, and dog squads rushed to the schools after the bomb threat emails arrived. Authorities immediately evacuated students and staff and cordoned off the campuses while checks were carried out.
The threatening email, sent at 10:04 am from the address wasung@atomicmail.io, claimed that a blast was expected at about 12:04 pm the same day and falsely referred to Khalistani groups being involved in planting explosive devices.
Declared Hoax After Security Sweeps
Police and bomb disposal teams conducted thorough searches of the school premises, including classrooms and grounds. After detailed checks, officials declared the threats to be hoaxes, and no explosive device was found.
One senior officer commented that such hoax threats place undue stress on school communities and divert security resources, but stressed that authorities are trained to respond quickly to keep everyone safe.
Pattern of False Threats in the Capital
This incident is the third hoax threat targeting public spaces in New Delhi this month. Recently, the Indian Women’s Press Corps (IWPC) also received a bomb threat email early on a Wednesday morning. Police confirmed that the IWPC message mentioned that an RDX-IED device had been planted at its premises, but that threat too proved to be a hoax.
Earlier on December 3, emails threatening bombs at Delhi University’s Ramjas College and Deshbandhu College led to evacuations before police found nothing suspicious.
Police Investigation Underway
Delhi Police has launched an investigation to trace the origin of the bomb threat emails, including the one sent to the five schools. Authorities are examining email headers, IP information, and other technical clues that could help identify the sender.
Officials have also urged the public not to panic and not to share unverified details on social media as the probe continues.
