Mumbai: For maize farmers
across Madhya Pradesh, the early crop stage is one of the most critical phases
of the season. As the crop begins to establish itself, grasses and broad-leaved
weeds compete aggressively for moisture, nutrients, and sunlight, often limiting
the plant’s growth potential from the very beginning.
The most effective time to control these weeds is at the 2–4 weed leaf
stage and for many maize fields across the state, that window is now.
To help farmers protect their crop during this crucial phase, Godrej
Agrovet, in collaboration with ISK Japan, offers Ashitaka, a herbicide
developed specifically for maize.
Applied at a recommended dosage of 50 ml per acre along with 400 ml per
acre of surfactant, Ashitaka provides effective control of grasses and
broad-leaved weeds, helping reduce crop-weed competition and enabling better
utilization of soil moisture and nutrients. Timely application supports
stronger crop establishment, healthier plant growth, and improved yield
potential.
