The campaign captures a role
reversal between parents and their grown-up son, bringing alive the emotion
that home is not an address, but a feeling created by the people we love.
Gurugram: For parents, a child will always have a home to return
to. But what happens when the child grows up, moves to another city and builds
a home of his own? This Diwali, Home Credit India, a leading consumer finance
company, explores this quiet yet deeply relatable shift through its new
campaign, #ApnoKeSaathDiwali, built around the thought ‘Ghar Wahan, Gharwale
Jahan’ (Home is where your loved ones are).
The
campaign film is now live on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn.
At
the heart of the campaign is a familiar story of growing up, moving away, and
finding new ways to stay connected. Manish, a young professional who has moved
from his hometown Shimla to Mumbai, cannot make it home for Diwali because of
work. “Aap log yahan aa jao na,” (Both of you, please come here) he
tells his parents.
For
parents who have spent years making sure their son always feels at home,
stepping into his home is a new experience. For them, it was his home, shaped
by a life they have not been part of every day. As his father sees the
household appliances he had bought, Manish tells him it is the result of his
own hard work, with Home Credit's help for the rest, so that his savings stay
safe. Pride quietly takes over. The father discovers that the boy he once
looked after is now capable of looking after himself.
The
most significant discovery comes when neighbours and friends begin to arrive,
greeting the parents with affection, and sharing stories of their son.
Slowly,
the unfamiliar apartment begins to feel like home.
The
film’s emotional core lies in this role reversal. The parents who once created
a sense of belonging for their son now experience it in the home he has built
for himself. As the evening unfolds with laughter, stories, and shared Diwali
rituals, the family realises that home is not tied to a particular place or the
memories associated with it. It is something people create for one another,
wherever life takes them.
Through
this story, Home Credit India connects the emotional significance of Diwali
with the everyday aspirations that shape modern Indian families. The film
positions life’s upgrades not merely as material additions, but as small
milestones that make independent living more comfortable and allow people to
build a life of their own, while staying connected to the relationships that
matter most.
Commenting
on the campaign, Ashish Tiwari, Chief Marketing & People Officer, Home
Credit India, said: “As children grow up and build lives of their own, the
relationship with their parents quietly evolves . With this film, we wanted to
capture this beautiful role reversal , where parents step into the world their
children have built and discover how much they have grown. It is a reminder
that while life takes us in new directions, the values and relationships we
grow up with continue to shape who we become. Through #ApnoKeSaathDiwali, we bring
the emotional essence of our #ZindagiHit thought to life - our loved ones are
with us at every step, and Home Credit is by their side too, making everyday
upgrades more accessible so that tomorrow's aspirations can become today's
reality. The campaign celebrates the balance between embracing new beginnings
and staying connected to what matters most, reinforcing Home Credit’s
commitment to helping customers realise their aspirations and build a better
future for themselves and their families.”
The
film closes with the voiceover reinforcing the brand’s commitment to standing
by its customers’ side at every step, bridging distances, enabling life’s
upgrades, and helping bring tomorrow’s aspirations closer to today.
