Mumbai: On the occasion of International
Women’s Day, IndusInd General Insurance emphasised the need for insurance
solutions that better reflect the evolving roles women play as entrepreneurs,
professionals, and financial decision makers. The company highlighted the
importance of designing protection that aligns with women’s real life journeys
and changing economic participation.
Commenting
on the occasion, Mr. Rakesh Jain, CEO, IndusInd General
Insurance, said:
“International
Women’s Day is a reminder that women today are not just participants in India’s
growth story but key architects of it as entrepreneurs, professionals, and
financial decision makers within households. Yet when it comes to protection,
many insurance solutions still reflect assumptions of uniform risks and linear
careers.
The
real opportunity for the industry is to design protection that reflects how
women actually live and work today. As more women enter the workforce, build
enterprises, and engage with digital platforms, insurance must evolve towards
more personalised and flexible solutions. This includes protection that
supports preventive health, recognises life stage transitions, and accommodates
non-linear work and income patterns.
When
protection is designed around women’s lived realities rather than standardised
models, insurance moves from being a product to becoming an enabler of
financial resilience and confidence for women and the families they support.”
