of “CRISIL ESG 62” by CRISIL ESG Ratings & Analytics Limited, placing the
company in the “Strong” category. The assessment examines a company’s exposure
to environmental, social and governance risks, its impact on the environment
and society, its internal governance practices, and its ability to manage
ESG-related risks and opportunities.
CRISIL’s proprietary ESG
assessment framework covers more than 500 key performance indicators across the
environmental, social and governance pillars. These include emissions, energy
and resource use, water and waste management, employee and stakeholder
management, product quality and community impact, as well as board composition
and functioning, corporate disclosures and shareholder rights.
ESG Ratings & Analytics
Limited is a Securities and Exchange Board of India-registered Category 1 ESG
Rating Provider. Its ESG ratings are based on publicly available information,
including annual reports, sustainability and Business Responsibility and
Sustainability Reports, exchange filings, investor presentations and
information published by regulators and government agencies.
The rating was independently
assigned by CRISIL ESG Ratings. Hindustan Zinc has clarified that it did not
engage the agency for the assessment and that the report was prepared using
publicly available information and disclosures.
Hindustan Zinc disclosed the
rating to the stock exchanges on July 22, 2026, in accordance with the
applicable provisions of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure
Requirements Regulations.
