One
of the largest solar projects in Uttar Pradesh, supporting the state’s
renewable energy ambitions
New
Delhi : Hindustan Power, one of India’s leading
integrated power producers, has achieved financial closure for its 435 MWp/300
MW solar power project in Lalitpur district, Uttar Pradesh, with the Indian
Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) sanctioning debt of ₹1,135 crore.
With
work now underway, the project is progressing as per the planned development
schedule and is set to strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s growing renewable energy
capacity.
The
project marks a significant milestone in the company’s renewable energy
expansion and strengthening its contribution towards the state’s growing clean
energy capacity.
The
project has a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Uttar Pradesh Power
Corporation Limited (UPPCL) and was awarded to Hindustan Power through a
competitive bidding process in 2025. The project is among the largest solar
projects being developed in Uttar Pradesh and will contribute towards meeting
the state’s growing energy requirements through clean power generation.
Commenting
on the development, Mr. Ratul Puri, Chairman, Hindustan Power, said, “The 435

The
project is also expected to support regional economic activity and generating
employment opportunities for locals.
Notably,
Hindustan Power has been expanding its presence across renewable and
transitional energy generation, with a focus on developing large-scale energy
infrastructure to support India’s growing power requirements and energy
transition.
